Junior Section

Following a successful presentation to the club committee by Nick Yarworth of British Cycling recently, the club has decided to look at developing a junior / youth section, under the guidelines of BC's Go-Ride Clubmark which confirms a kitemark standard for junior / youth activities.

British Cycling will be setting up courses in local schools and the club will shadow these activities with a view to taking over their delivery later in the year.

This promises to be a great opportunity for the club to sustain and develop its junior membership. To get things rolling Roger Towe, Kelvin southan, Colin Whitford and others are all on their way to becoming qualified coaches, with John Gabriel and Paul Sidwell already there.

It is early days but we would like to hear from anyone who is interested in getting involved in this project either as a coach, volunteer, welfare office or administrator. Please contact John Gabriel by email or on 02476 381092.
