Charity benefits from Pedal Power

Hinckley Cycle Racing Club donated a cheque for £450 to a very deserving charity in The Hope Foundation for Cancer Research which was gratefully received on behalf of the charity by Trustee Mr David Wyrko . For the second year running, charity funds were the proceeds from the 10 and 25 mile time trial races forming the 'GMC Challenge Weekend' organised by the Hinckley club and held on local roads from Wolvey in June.
Generous prize money for the events was again sponsored by GMC Software Technology with trophies and medals donated by club members Bill Harris and Chris Ellis from Nuneaton Trophies. Hinckley CRC members were successful in the races with Harry Whitford winning the Junior trophy, Scott Walker attaining second place overall for the combined events, Nathan Anderton winning a category prize and Joe Murray leading club mates to the team award and securing individual victory in the 25 mile event in a club best of 56.49 for the challenging course.
Event organiser and promoter Mick Wills, is already making plans for bigger and even more successful events next summer with the aim of attracting a quality field of top competitors and raising further funds for charity.
